Addressing Concerns in a Confidential and Protected Manner

  1. Residents who wish to address concerns in a confidential and protected manner may see any of the following persons:

    • Any Chief Resident
    • Program Coordinator
    • Program Director
    • Other Surgical Faculty Member
    • Chairman of the Department of Surgery

  2. Residents who wish to address concerns and are not confortable in discussing the matter with any of the above persons may see any of the following:
    • Any member of the UAMS Resident Council
    • The Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education

  3. The specific procedure for contacting a member of the Resident Council or the Associate Dean for GME is available in UAMS GME Policy 1.400, “Addressing Concerns in a Confidential and Protected Manner.”

  4. In the event a concern is not addressed in a satisfactory manner by the above process, residents may review UAMS GME Policy 1.410, “Adjudication of Resident Grievances,” to determine if the concern may be addressed by the UAMS Resident Grievance Procedure.
